“Thank you,” she said, forcing a smile. The man gave a brief nod again, then turned his attention back to the stroller. With surprising gentleness, he lifted it by the handle and rolled it toward a beat-up pickup truck parked a few booths down. Megan watched him carefully, still processing how fast everything had just happened.
