“They’re your resignation papers,” the principal replied flatly. “You’re fired.” Bill blinked again, as if the words needed time to land. Fired? After thirty years? No warnings, no meeting, no explanation? “There’s gotta be some mistake,” he said, voice cracking. “I’ve done nothing wrong.” But Harrow just stared, unmoved by his confusion.
