As Bill walked toward the office, the familiar walls felt suddenly distant. He passed the trophy cases he polished weekly, the student artwork he hung with care. A couple of kids waved at him through the classroom windows. He waved back, trying not to show the strange feeling in his chest. Something felt wrong.
