The panel had shifted, revealing what could only be a hidden passage. Lucas dropped to his knees, crawling forward as he whispered, “It’s a doorway.”
Raising his voice, he called out louder, “Hello? Is someone there?” His call disappeared into the newly revealed gap, swallowed by the dark beyond. The silence that followed pressed in ominously.
