As Ivey grew more confident and independent, she was slowly introduced to the other chimps. There were some stumbles early on, but the others followed Cora’s lead.
Ivey had learned chimpanzee behavior from her mother, and the troop began to accept her not as a fox, but as family. To them, she was simply one of their own.
