Halfway up, the climb turned brutal. Wind whipped around them, tearing at their jackets. Greg’s boot slipped, sending ice shards tumbling into the sea below.
He gasped, clinging to his pick. “You good?” Thomas called. “Fine!” Greg lied, voice trembling. His knuckles were white, his breath ragged in the cold.
