Luke and Edwin stood shoulder to shoulder at the edge of the boat, the sea stretching endlessly before them. Luke tugged at his straps, checking every buckle twice.
The weight pressed heavily against his back, a reminder of what they were about to do. “Ready?” he asked. Edwin gave a simple nod, determination written in his eyes.
