Julia slowed down, realizing the baby seemed to be leading her. Every few meters, it stopped, looked back, and squealed. “It wants us to follow,” she said quietly. David raised an eyebrow but soon saw it too.
The zookeepers exchanged skeptical glances but didn’t stop them. “Stay close,” one warned again. Julia gave the calf space, and sure enough, it waddled forward, pausing until she moved closer, repeating the strange behavior again and again.
