Encouraged by the lack of activity, Phill decided to see if he could pry the object loose. It took some effort, but eventually, with a bit of twisting and pulling, he managed to free a large section of the strange growth.
He expected it to be light, like beehives normally are. But it was much heavier than anticipated.
