Working together, Luke and Tom peeled away the strange layers of paper and glue. Hidden inside was a tangled mess of wires, some twisted, some loose.
Tom carefully snipped at one with pliers, and the entire thing shifted, falling open to reveal a small, odd-looking electronic device at the center.
