Daniel turned his car onto a narrow gravel lane that led deep into the forest. His vehicle drove past tall pine trees that blocked out the evening rays of sunlight, making it appear almost nighttime.
It was calm and quiet here, but Daniel did not yet know that for him, it was the calm before the storm.
