At first, the keepers thought Leo was simply resting. Maybe he was tired from too much pacing the day before. But as night fell, Leo stayed on the platform, staring out into the trees beyond his fence.
The other lions headed for their shelters, but Leo remained in place, his large paws crossed, his body still and watchful.
