Lilly took another careful step forward, her injured leg protesting. The smell of dry wood and something faintly metallic filled her nose.
Her eyes flicked to the attic floor around the structure. There were footprints in the dust, which were not hers. Small, faded ones, trailing toward the edge of the white porch.
